10 Products for Trichotillomania and Other Awesome Things You Need to Own.

  1. This scalp massager makes you feel like you’re hair has been cleaned at a professional salon. Plus, I’ve read that scalp massage can stimulate growth. So win, win.

  2. These fidget spiky finger rings for keeping your hands busy while you work, read, or binge watch Netflix.

  3. A heated eye mask for three reasons. One, it keeps you from pulling your eyelashes and eyebrows. Two, the heat stimulates hair growth and three, it will open and release your eye’s natural oil glands, keeping you free from styes and other eye infections people with trichotillomania may be prone to. Pop the eye mask in the microwave per instructions (do not overheat!) and it’ll keep heat much longer than a warm towel or other compress. Close your tired lids and listen to a podcast or meditate. Don’t be surprised if your vision is blurry afterwards, that’s your eye’s natural oil lubricating your eyes. Consult your eye doctor prior to use.

  6. These crazy looking fidget bracelets keep me from pulling my hair and I love how to the little tentacles replicate hairs that i can yank at (and pull off it need be!). They’re not going to grace the cover of Vogue but when you’re at home, and you’re trying to not pull your hair, they’re fun and cute and keep your hands busy.

  7. This scalp pigment powder is perfect for covering up bald spots from trichotillomania. If you pull from your scalp and have a small area you want to hide, this is easy to apply powder. It comes with an application brush and doesn’t need any dry time. Just apply and go!

  8. My hair pulling started with just my eyelashes but now I’ve moved onto pulling my eyebrows, too. I guess you can say I’m a real go-getter! Thankfully there are products that fill in sparse areas of my brows with a natural look. This product, Brow Flick, is a must for creating hair-like strokes. One of my new favorite beauty buys is The GloPro microneedling roller. It feels like I’ve upped my skincare routine and can basically go head to head with Gwyneth Paltrow. Okay, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself but I know for sure my creams and serums now seep INTO my skin, instead of all that money (I mean, product), simply wiping off on my pillowcase. If you’re going to splurge on your skin, do it with this! It’s ahhh-mazing. Next time you get carded at a bar, you can thank me! It also gives me enough sensory stimulation on my face, that i find my hair pulling urges have decreased on the nights I use it. Boom.
